Prompting from the Grid
DriftGrid turns comments into agent prompts. Press C in frame view, click to place a pin, and write what you want.
The Flow
- Enter frame view (Enter on a card)
- Press C — crosshair cursor appears
- Click anywhere on the design to place a pin
- Type your prompt: “Make the headline bigger” or “Add a product grid section”
- Press Enter — prompt is saved
- Copy the prompt to your agent, or use “Send to Agent” if MCP is connected
What the Agent Receives
When you copy a prompt, the clipboard contains:
- The file path (so the agent knows which file to edit)
- Pin location (percentage coordinates)
- Your prompt text
- Any replies in the thread
Whole-Version Prompts
In grid view, press C on an empty drift slot to write a whole-version prompt. This appears as a floating input below the card. Use this for big-picture direction:
- “Create a dark mode version of this”
- “Redesign with a split-panel layout”
- “Apply the client feedback from Round 1”
Prompt States
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Awaiting prompt | Empty slot, no prompt yet |
| Awaiting agent | Prompt saved, agent hasn’t started |
| In progress | Agent is working (pulsing animation) |
| Done | Agent replied, design is in the slot |
Resolving Prompts
After the agent acts on a prompt, you can mark it as resolved. Resolved prompts show as faded/strikethrough. They stay in the thread for history.
